1-2-3: The “Task Anchoring” Secret to Skyrocket Your Focus

sent by Joaquín Kosegarten | June 24, 2025

Every second counts, so let’s get right to it. 1 idea, 2 ways it saves you time, and 3 steps to Get It Done:

1 Idea

Train your brain to focus on command.

2 Ways it saves you time

1. Eliminates resistance – When you focus instantly, you don’t waste time figuring out how to get started.

2. Puts you in flow faster – When you’re in flow, you get less distracted, solve problems faster, feel more motivated, and can get up to 5 times more done.

3 Steps to Get It Done:

1. Pick a trigger – Use a consistent trigger before focused work (like playing the same song, having the same drink, or smelling the same scent).

2. Repeat it daily – Reinforce your trigger by using it right before you start working, every time.

3. Use it to enter flow – Over time, your brain will snap into focus and enter flow state as soon as you use your trigger.

Conclusion

Your brain loves patterns. Train it to focus on command — no willpower required.

“What if my trigger doesn’t work?”

Choose something unique that you won’t see, hear, taste, smell, or touch unless you decide to. Start using it when you already feel focused. Keep trying different things — you’ll find one that works!

As promised — 1 minute that can save you hours

P.S. I trained my brain to focus whenever I light a scented candle. Now my office smells like a spa 😅
