Take your phone off your desk and place it outside your reach.

2 Ways it saves you time

1. Your brain slows down every time it sees your phone. Even when the screen is off your attention drops and your mind keeps checking for notifications. Removing it from sight lifts your cognitive load right away.

2. It cuts down the tiny micro checks that waste hours each week. A quick glance turns into a quick scroll and suddenly your plan for the day is gone.

3 Steps to Get It Done:

1. Put your phone in another room or at least on a shelf behind you. Out of sight out of mind.

2. Turn on focus mode so only true emergencies can reach you.

3. Set one or two phone check times in your day to regain control instead of reacting.

Conclusion

Your phone is the strongest distraction in your environment. Move it away and your focus doubles because your mind finally gets space to think.

“But I need my phone for work!”

Easy fix. Keep it close enough to hear calls yet far enough that you cannot grab it out of habit. Also, many of your apps can be used through your computer.
