Get It Done

Every second counts, so let’s get right to it. 1 idea, 2 ways it saves you time, and 3 steps to Get It Done:
Begin every work session with the simplest step of the task in front of you. This gentle start warms up your brain and gets you moving without resistance.
1. Starting with the simplest step removes the mental friction that causes hesitation. Your brain gets a quick win and slips into focus naturally instead of fighting the task.
2. Prevents the slow, frustrating start that leads to procrastination. When your mind feels switched on, you take action sooner and finish sooner.
1. The night before, list the first small step of tomorrow’s main task. Make it so simple it feels effortless to begin.
2. When you sit down to work, do not think or plan, just complete that tiny step. This is your brain’s warm up.
3. Once you finish it, roll straight into the next step while your focus is already switched on.
Starting with a simple pre-defined step is like warming up before training. It prepares your mind for heavy thinking, reduces friction, and helps you enter deep focus with far less effort.
“I never know what the simplest step is”
Just think about things such as: opening the document, naming the file, or writing one sentence. The simplest step is just the easiest place to begin, not the smartest or most important one. The goal is simply to get started with the least amount of effort.
As promised — 1 minute that can save you hours
