1-2-3 Get It Done: The “Sunlight Signal” That Switches On Morning Energy

sent by Joaquín Kosegarten | October 14, 2025

Every second counts, so let’s get right to it. 1 idea, 2 ways it saves you time, and 3 steps to Get It Done:

1 Idea

Get natural sunlight exposure within 30 minutes of waking to reset your body clock and power up your brain, no caffeine required.

2 Ways it saves you time

1. Eliminates groggy starts – Morning sunlight tells your brain it’s “go time.” This kicks off cortisol production (the good kind) and helps you feel alert faster.

2. Improves sleep at night – Early light anchors your circadian rhythm, which means better sleep later, and sharper focus tomorrow.

3 Steps to Get It Done:

1. Step outside within 30 minutes of waking – Even 2–5 minutes of sunlight helps. Aim for 10+ if it’s cloudy or winter.

2. Face the light – You don’t need to stare at the sun (please don’t). Just let light hit your eyes directly, no sunglasses or windows.

3. Stack it with something you already do – Sip water or tea outside, walk the dog, or stretch by a bright window if you can’t go out.

Conclusion

You don’t need more coffee, you need more sunlight. A few minutes of light first thing can set you up for hours of clean energy and clear thinking.

“What if I wake up before sunrise or can’t get outside?”

Use bright artificial light (e.g., a 10,000 lux lamp) as a backup. It’s not perfect, but it’s far better than scrolling in the dark.

As promised — 1 minute that can save you hours

P.S. I started getting sunlight right after waking. My neighbours think I’m solar powered. Honestly, they’re not wrong. ☀️😎
